The Catholic community in Drogheda has long been a cornerstone of the town’s identity, fostering spiritual growth, education, and outreach. St. Mary’s Parish continues this legacy, serving as a vibrant hub for worship and community connection within this historic town.
St. Mary’s Church, Drogheda
Located on James Street in Drogheda, St. Mary’s Church stands as a striking example of late-Victorian French Gothic architecture, designed by P. J. Dodd and completed in 1889. The church’s grand design, with its rose window, bell tower, and intricate limestone carvings, makes it an architectural focal point of the area. Inside, visitors are greeted by beautifully painted walls, stunning stained-glass windows by Lobin and Mayer, and a vibrant polychrome motif that adds artistic richness to the sacred space.
